What have we been doing?
When our Bishop and Pastor Josep Rossello moved to England we saw ourselves in a position in which we had to decide on the future of our small but significant congregation. In order to get to a righthous conclusion, which could represent the will of God, we had to consider the original meaning of the existence of the church. The church is there to serve the community and take the good news of Christ to people; The church must be an active institution in society, it must be healthy and, most importantly in today's society: A trustworthy institution.
We decided then to move to a place which belongs to our current pastor named Robson Sousa. Robson had an intention to rent the place but he was delighted with the idea of moving the congregation to there, he was even surprised that the idea was so well accepted.
Pastor Robson has a barber shop next to the place and talks to people daily, another church member is from the same neighborhood; There is nothing better than a church in the member's neighborhood, a church to which guests and members can go even on foot.
During this new process we also noticed that we would have to have a name that could represent us better in the neighborhood and also be attractive to the locals. Then we became Renovo: Uma Comunidade Cristã (Renewing: A Christian Community).
In sum, Renovo is a Reformed / Evangelical church linked to The Free Church of England and it has the Book of Common Prayer (1662) as basis for the liturgy. The church is currently located at 65, Mirabeau Antônio Pini Avenue, Nova Esperança (Araretama), Pindamonhangaba - São Paulo, Brazil.
May the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you!
